About the North Westside Ratepayers Association
December 4, 2007 a general meeting was held and the old North Westside Ratepayers Association was resurrected. The old Ratepayers didn't dissolve completely, but the members did dwindle for a little while. Now there are many new members.
As of July 22, 2010 these are the newest members that we know of so far
Diane Baldwin was voted in again as President of the North Westside Road Ratepayers Association 2008 - 2010.
Dave Robertson was nominated and voted in as Vice-President of the Ratepayers and is a Director of the North Westside Communities Association.
Allastair Fergusson is now Director.
Val Trevis was nominated and voted in as Director. Val Trevis is also President of the North Westside Communities Association and General Manager at the Vernon Chamber of Commerce.
Allastair Fergusson (President) submitted this letter to the community back in 2007 when he was President of the Ratepayers!
History of what originally happened to the North Westside Ratepayers Association.
This letter from the old ratepayers was found on the bulletin board. Since this letter a new Ratepayers membership was formed.
The Ratepayers Association did not formally dissolve but has been resurrected with new membership.
THIS SECTION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION
When you belong to any Association your vote, if its a yes or a no vote, can change depending on what the majority of the Association votes. If the majority vote yes, then your vote becomes a yes, and if they vote no, then your vote becomes no. Belonging to an Association can be used against you.
If you would prefer to have your vote remain what you voted, either yes or no, then check out this concept about direct democracy or pure democracy.
www.okanaganlakebc.ca is starting to organize a PURE DEMOCRACY PETITION. If we all work together we can accomplish anything. Lets put a little effort into this and get legislation changed by way of a PURE DEMOCRACY PETITION. Nothing is going to change if we don't change it!!
